I have always gone back and forth on the topic When Is It Time To Move? If you know anything about my history from reading my articles on my website here, you would know that I just moved into a new construction home in November of 2014. Most people would assume that once you get a brand new house, you aren’t going to want to leave for quite some time. However, I think I go against this logic, and I might be getting the itch to pack up and move again, especially if I can afford to get the true house of my dreams. Yes, my current house is nice and I really have nothing bad to say about it. I worked hard and got a home that is 2,200+ square feet, 4 bedrooms and 2.5 baths with a full unfinished basement. I have wood floors, granite counter tops, stainless steel appliances, a fenced-in yard, and a concrete on the way within a few weeks.
When I think about it being the Time To Move, it is almost always something that is in my mind, and I think as I have grown up and gotten older, I have this expectation of what I want my house to be like. I am not sure if that goal is attainable in the area that I currently live in now, or if it is something I would have to get in a different part of this state or a completely different state all together. I know for a fact that I need to probably double my salary in order to get the home I am looking for and then finally say it is Time To Move.
So you guys are probably wondering what it is I am looking for in my potential dream home, so I guess I can run down my list of what I want in order to pack up yet again and move. The main thing I can always see when I picture my dream home is a two story all brick home with a horseshow driveway where I can either park in front of my house or go to the 3-4 car garage on the side of the home. The house needs to have 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, media room, finished basement/”mancave,” and an outdoor patio with an outdoor kitchen with a refrigerator and bbq grill at a minimum. The cherry on top would be if it were on a golf course or had a built-in pool or a pool with a 360 degree surrounding deck. If it were ever possible for me to afford this, I would jump at the opportunity in a heartbeat, and tell the family that it is time to move.
The main reason why I am looking to do this is to give my family the very best I can, and this would be the be all end all home in my mind. I know this house might be asking for a lot, but I always envisioned a house like this with my family. I am not sure what it is, but I can almost feel it. If it gets to a point where I can’t achieve this goal so be it, but until I give up on it, it will always be a dream.
